Our Dog

Macie and Caroline LOVE their dog. They cuddle with him, they go looking for him when I ask where the DOG is, they call him by name ("DOG"). They think he is the greatest dog ever. Thanks for the perfect birthday present, Ama.

Bright-eyed and Bushy-tailed!

Macie and Caroline are back! How do I know they're feeling 100%? Well, they're climbing furniture, they're climbing me (not a word about my sweats!), they're playing together again, and they're so happy! It was kind of nice to get so many pictures up and blogging done while they were under the weather, but I'm glad they're done being sick!

Macie trying to keep Caroline from climbing HER desk!

Caroline with a water bottle top - mmmm.

Macie laughing!

Caroline attacking my face and Macie climbing my belly - good times :)

When they were two buns in the oven!

Macie and Caroline's big 1 year birthday is this weekend and I'm trying to remember what it was like before they arrived.... uncomfortable! This is from 2/28/08 - the day before I delievered. Whoa.

Thirsty Chicken

Too bad the video didn't turn out, but here is a quick succession of pictures showing Macie falling asleep sitting up. Mind you, this is at 7:15am, about 30min after she woke up!!!!

Tell-tale signs that your kids may be a little sick....

1. Someone is always out of her clothes, due to a body fluids mishap.

2. Binkies are all the rage again.

3. Sleeping on dad is back in fashion.

4. Really, sleeping anywhere is good - the floor feels nice....

5. Any combination of the above!

1. Macie - where are your clothes?

2. Bink it up, C!

3. and 4. Caroline resting anywhere!

5. My poor little sickies!

How Big is Macie?

Thiiiiiis BiiiiiiiG!!!!

Wow, Macie, that's pretty big!

Caroline's not letting anyone know how big she is - she's just showing off her pearly whites!

Six and Sick

Caroline got her sixth tooth! And, Macie got sick - poor, projectile puking baby - all day Saturday :( She felt a lot better yesterday and we thought we'd made it....until Caroline woke up violently ill last night, which prompted Macie to throw up again, which sent mom running to the ivory throne. Poor dad - screaming babies, puke everywhere, and no mom in sight.... Here's hoping that tonight is better!

February 20

Today, we are remembering Mike's mother, Ann Victoria Smith. Sarah, Caroline, and Macie never got to meet her, but have heard stories about her great sense of humor and know how happy and proud she would be of Mike. We love that Macie's middle name is Victoria, as it makes us think of her often.

Just another day at the office....

Macie and Caroline take their jobs very seriously.

Food fight!

How do they get food in so many different places? And, Macie, how do you always end up with something - a piece of quesadilla, a kidney bean, etc. - on top of your head? Impressive!

Macie with her hats :)

You've got a bean in your eye, Caroline!

Sweet sleeping babies

Caroline is out!

Wait! Where's Macie's left arm?

Found it :)

President's Day in B-ham

Pajama party - Macie and Caroline learning how to correctly bang the pots and pans together from cousins Gabe and Jon (from l to r)

Look! Ama and Daco have drawers, too! And, we can pull stuff out of them just like we do at home. Nice bread-basket hat, Caroline!

And, the BIGGEST SURPRISE of all! Caroline and Macie can climb stairs!!!! They've never done it before, but they just shot right up them like there was someone chasing them - wait, there was :) They had so much fun!!!!

Be Mine!

Happy Valentine's Day! Here are a few pictures from Macie and Caroline's first Valentine's Day, and Macie's last day of heart medicine. Keep those hearts strong!

Macie in red and Caroline in pink wearing their BE MINE shirts. Couldn't resist!

Last dose of meds! Anyone need lots of little bottles?

Macie finishes it off (and looks pretty proud)! What a milestone!!!!

We're really good at....

....emptying things out of drawers! It's our new favorite thing to do - pajamas from our dresser, toys from our toy boxes, tupperware out of kitchen drawers.... Mom keeps asking us to put everything back, but that doesn't sound like as much fun!

C and M at work!

Black beans, Bottles, Blinking, and Baby Bottoms!

Macie and Caroline tried black beans and LOVED them - they loved them so much that they smeared them all over their faces and finger painted with them!

We're working on holding on to our own bottles. Macie is weaning off her meds, so this is the last week she'll see the little bottles. YAY!

Chasing each other through the fort - Don't trip, Macie!

We got snow again! Right before I snapped the picture, Macie and Caroline were actually really interested in what the squirrel was going to do in the snow. Then, they saw some shiny things :)

party time!

Macie and Caroline try out the see-saw at twin friends' Milo and Levi's 1st birthday party!!!! I wish we'd gotten more pictures, but we spent our time chasing the girls, who were on the go - trying out all the slides, bouncy toys, parachutes, etc.

The POD arrives

This weekend, we received some new used furniture (sent from Mike's dad) in a big POD! And, just in time - look how Caroline had learned how to climb our old desk?

Caroline and dad check out the new couch (and mom's shades!)

The POD being unloaded into the garage....

Daddy Camp pictures

As promised, here are a couple of pictures from when Mike had the girls on his own for a WEEK! (with three days help from our nanny and Ama) These are pictures that Mike sent me over the phone - what they lack in quality, they make up for in hilarious-ness :)

PS - The black eye was not a big deal - Ama said that Macie just lost her balance at the library and fell into a table, which scratched her "cheek" - she only cried for a minute and it wasn't until that night that the black eye really filled in!

C and M on the merry-go-round for the first time ever!

Macie incarcerated with a black eye -- just kidding, but doesn't this look like a mugshot?
A little shiner's not going to keep me from having fun!
