Some funny stories....
So, the girls were going to drink some milk and I asked them to sit on their bottoms. Caroline decided to squat down and said, "Mommy, I want to sit on my PRETEND bottom." Macie promptly jumped up from sitting and squatted on her pretend hiney, too!
The girls are really, really, really scared of flies.... not of spiders, not of bumble bees, not of ants, but FLIES! So scared in fact that when they're in the middle of lunch and see a fly, they start screaming uncontrollably and ask to go to bed... until I put them in bed, where I can hear them *sniffle sniffle, "that fly scare you!"* Usually the fly issue is when we're in a room, but today it happened at the park. We were chatting with some big girls when all of a sudden, both girls' faces fell and the screaming started. Other parents were holding their kids ears! One of the big girls tried to comfort Macie, but we just had to leave. As we left the playground, Macie said, "Octavia try to make you feel better - sob - sob!"
We were cuddling in bed this morning and the girls started talking about my friend getting married and who her husband is going to be. So, the conversation expanded:
me: "Who's mommy's husband?"
Caroline: "Daddy."
Me: "Who's your husband?"
Caroline: "Caroline"
Macie: "Daddy"
Then, tonight at dinner, Macie let daddy know that he's her husband. Isn't that Oedipus or something? :)
I took the girls in their jogger the other day and they went through a whole story about Ama. "Ama go hiking. Ama fall! Ama hurt her hand. Ama have owie. Daco help her up. Ama take you to worm playground." I think they had a good Monday with their Ama! Good job, Ama - especially since we got back to Seattle from GGLu's memorial service in Boston at 1am!

Babysitting
Giddy-Up!
BobEeena visit!
New helmets to go with our NEW BIKES!
Caroline and Macie, still in their pj's, insisting on
wearing their NEW Elmo helmets inside. They were so excited! We just got bikes from my friend, Megan, and her 8year old twin girls (they're too big for the 12" frames!). They're so cute, but so far, M and C mostly just sit on them and turn the handlebars.
Macie takes bike safety very seriously!
Funny people
Well, I'm a little behind on blogging, I'll admit :) It's been a busy few weeks, with school ending for me, getting a new camera, and having Uncle Bob and Aunt Enid visit (aka BobEeena, to the girls). Here's some funny, recent stories about the girls:
We like to sing our ABC's at the top of our lungs - no tune - sounds something like this: "Aaaa, Bbbbb, Cccccc, H, I, J, S, Toe, P, Ggggggg, Fffffff!" It's pretty funny! And, sometimes, if I ask Caroline to sing the Alphabet song, she sings, "Alphaaaaabet Soooooong" - very pretty :)
We met a dog named Macy yesterday at the playground! "That Macie girl, THAT Macy dog!" It was pretty funny - we have friends with the same names (That OTHER Max, That DIFFERENT Kristie), but it was the first time they'd met a double of themselves, and in a dog, no less!!!!
The girls are talking a lot and I understand most of the things they say (I spend a lot of time translating for other people :), but the funniest thing they "missay" is the "sp"-sound. For example, if we're driving to get Mike from work, the girls will be saying, "Yook, Face Needle!" "I chasing Face Needle in my caaaar!" They also have "faghetti" for dinner sometimes. But, the best is when we go to the Sparten gym in Shoreline - - "Mommy, remember going Farten Gym?! I ride see-saw at Farten Gym!" We just laugh and laugh!
We also love how they "talk" on their phones. Macie may hold a rock up to her ear and say, "Uh huh.... hold on a sec!" or Caroline has been heard saying, "Well, ummmm, What you doing?" They're picking up all the little nuances of language - it's amazing to see it all happening.
Oh yeah, and the girls are 2 and 1/4 now! Big girls!
