Quads?

My friend, Jenny, watched the girls - along with her boys - last week for a few minutes and took this awesome picture! So, are they quads? Or, two sets of boy-girl twins? It looks like we planned to have Macie match Finn and Caroline match Grey. Either way, super-cute!

Mom's bday

Well, I didn't feel great for my birthday this year, so I was really grateful the girls were happy to hang out and just relax all day. First order of business: Top Pot donut. M and C helped me out....
Then, they played outside in the 70 degree weather while I sat on the porch - me and Macie

and Caroline

When dad got home, he cooked up a delicious dinner and even got the girls to help him make cupcakes!
C

M - they took their jobs very seriously. And, I had a great day!

Red Robin Birthday Dinner

What could be more special than a birthday burger at Red Robin on your birthday? A birthday burger at the FLAGSHIP Red Robin on ITS LAST DAY a little before your birthday. We had a great family dinner as an early birthday present for me last Sunday in the historic, awesome Red Robin on Eastlake. So sad that it's now closed....
Mike and Macie outside

Mike, Macie, Caroline, and me after dinner - you can see the water from where we were sitting. The UW crew team was out practicing so we got to see lots of 8+s rowing by.
Caroline: "Boats going?"
me: "The water's bad, so they are going to look for better water."
Caroline: "New water?"
me: "Yes, those boats are going to look for new water."

She's intrigued!

Macie loves her special water and straw!

Post-burger bliss....

Lollipop race!

We went to the SAAS track meet on Saturday and watched lots of big kids running races. Then, the girls got to "compete" in the little kids run - the lollipop race! Here's a picture right after the start - Macie's in blue with the pink hat and Caroline's in the pink shirt. Caroline was so excited she turned around and ran back to the start line!
And, here are the girls coming into the finish - Macie was not too happy by this point. Click on the picture to get a close-up of THAT face :)

All better! We got our lollipops (which dad ate)!

Ready to SWIM

Playing the hug game

Happy St. Patty's - aka, finding green outfits

Green dresses - Caroline looking a little preppy and Macie going for the bohemian look :)

Don't forget that the baby dolls need to wear green, too, mom!

Cooking

Adding to the outfits - hats, scarves, and tutus! These girls are hilarious :)

Silly girls

This is what happens when we switch the carseats - - Caroline decides to pretend-sleep in hers....

while Macie just hogs the coveted carseat pacis!

Caroline shows me how she sits in their little chairs (which I eventually had to take away when they became weapons)
sometimes we just need to hold hands....

Sitting at Kristie and Bob's kitchen on their stools!

When bad pictures happen to good people....

Two big events with good friends, Jason and Tina, and two bad pictures to show for it! Boo!
Mike, Sarah, Tina, and Jason on their wedding night 9/2008
Where's Mike?
And, last week, celebrating Tina's 40th birthday! Why can't we just get a good, focused pic?

City Bus with Ama and Daco

My parents have started taking the girls on bus rides! They love it (both the girls AND my parents)!!! Here's a picture and a video of them getting ready to head down to UW and hang out with the college kids. How fun!

Potty what?

I have a feeling that I'M actually the one getting trained here - for patience. The girls LOVE going potty and playing in the bathroom, but I'm not sure much is actually happening. Makes for cute pics, though!

What?

Friends come visit!

Macie, obsessed with babies in the first place, gets her chance to hold a REAL one! She hasn't stopped talking about 6mo Baby Cole since he came down with Ang from Everett. I bet she's counting the days until she's allowed to hold his twin bro, Quinn :)
Tsai and Finley come visit from Portland - just turned 1!

M and C weren't sure about the little ones being in their high chairs ("mine no mine!") until they realized they got to sit in the big kid chairs!

2 week old Quentin! Look at that face!

2 year check-up

Well, I didn't realize that when children turn two, they get to start wearing hospital gowns! The girls were very excited. They did a great job visiting with Dr. Tom and Caroline even asked him if he could fix her broken bellybutton (there's nothing wrong with it, but that was pretty funny!).

Here are their stats:

Macie - 26lbs 2oz and 32.5in tall (a little smaller than average, but not much!)

Caroline - 28lbs and 33in tall (so average :)

They stopped measuring their head circumferences, but I'm confident that their melons are still on the large side!

Cute

The girls are good about sitting down before they drink from their sippy cups, but this show of solidarity was just too stinkin' cute. They may be two, but they're still my baby girls.

Can you feel the excitement?! Baby doll strollers!!!!

M and C with their dollies, charging around the kitchen! They have started putting hats and blankets on their baby dolls so they are ready to go in the strollers - too funny :)

Caroline is sooooooooooooo excited!

Bumper babies!

Spring is here - Flowers and Helmets

We feel the need, the need for SPEED!!!! Wow, Macie and Caroline must be going fast to get blown back like that!

Helmets are also helpful when you're around daffodils - dangerous flowers.

Macie - mmm hmmmmm

Caroline and me - I told you flowers are dangerous! My allergies have been horendous this year - can you tell from my eyes!?!?!

CUPCAKES!

PARTY! Games, Balloons, and Cupcakes, oh my!

We had a great birthday celebration with the girls on Sunday with their closest friends and family. They played games like big kids! It's amazing how many pics we have for such a short party :)

Tina's famous Grover and Elmo cupcakes - whoa!

Ama and Caroline get ready to play a game!

Noah and Alexa outside

Macie swipes Max's cool flame shoes while he's not looking - looks great with her dress :)

Game Number 1 - Throw the ball in Grover's mouth! Turned out to be more like "Walk up to Grover and drop the ball in his mouth" but all the kids liked it :)

Daco explains to Caroline how to improve her aim.

The grown-ups were too busy chatting to play....

"Come on, Max!" Macie says... UH OH! Grover's eating Max!
Game Number 2 - Pin the Nose on Elmo! Jon, Macie, and Noah work together to get it right!

Oops! Somebody pinned the nose on GABE!

The moment they've all been waiting for - CUPCAKES!

Macie and Grover

Let me try the red....
Hands!

Caroline opens a baby doll stroller from Mimi and Papa and can't contain her excitement! By the way, she's sporting her new Strawberry hat from Lindsay

Macie, in her Olallie Berry Hat!

Shooting hoops, a great gift from Ama and Daco!

Whew! I'm tired, let's eat! M and C with their momma - in new dresses after the cupcakes!
The family gathered round - Jon, Brock, Lindsay, Macie, Sarah, Caroline, cheryl, Tony, Daco, and Ama - - A great way to end a great day. Happy Birthday, girls!!!! (***Gabe is missing from this picture but was a huge help in the birthday festivities!)
