Monkey See, Monkey Do!

Happy To You

The perfect greeting for any holiday!

Little Rascals

Dear Caroline, isn't it enough that you can climb into your high chair all by yourself? Do you really, really need to climb our stools, too? They just make you so tall! You do look pretty proud of yourself, though. And, Macie, how did your high chair get all the way over there?!
Caroline woke up before Macie from her nap and was playing, and then decided to go get her sister up, "Macie! Wake UP!" and read to her from the laundry basket. Because, why not?

Silly girl has climbed in the basket and then covered herself with books!

mmmm, yogurt

Caroline loves her yogurt so much, she smears it all over her face and even uses it as a conditioner for her hair!

Macie loves her yogurt so much, she uses TWO spoons to eat it :)

Whidbey Island in February

We went to Whidbey Island with Max, Ben, and Emily for the long weekend and had a great time exploring the beaches (Macie even accidently explored Puget Sound when she tripped and fell in!), going out to lunch for Valentine's Day, playing, and of course, taking a bath together (blackmail in a few years, kids!). It was great and relaxing, as always....

All three kids were sitting in the left half of the bath - a little squished! But, they didn't mind :)

Happy Valentine's Day, Daddy!

Not Caroline!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Well, obviously, M and C are more interested in their book and train than in telling me how much they love me! Good thing their shirts say it all - "Mom's little love bird" and "My heart belongs to dad!" Ahhhh :)

Impromptu Sleep-over with the Boys!

Cheryl, Jon, and Gabe came over for the afternoon and left around 6pm.... Ten minutes later, we got a call - they're car had broken down!! So, lucky for us, not so lucky for them, we got to have a sleep-over for the boys! Here's a few pictures of Gabe, Caroline, Macie, and JonJon playing in the bath!

Raise your hand if you like Chocolate!

Reading our books....

These picture books, MADE by one of my collegues, have been a stable of the girls' reading since day 1. M and C are finally at the stage where they read them BY THEMSELVES, saying the words and turning pages! Here they are - sitting with these treasures.

Hey sis, check out this picture!

Caroline, imitating the picture of the little boy yawning - so, that's why they call them YAWN books!

Macie reading a really good mazagine....

Macie, who likes to go potty all the time now, (sigh!) loves to read the Reader's Digest while she's doing business. It's hilarious. She always asks for her "Maza-gine" - it's a hard word, ok? Caroline, on the other hand, is very happy to cheer for Macie but has no interest in sitting on the potty herself. This should be an interesting phase....

TENTS!

Check out our newest-used purchase - TENTS! A huge hit with the girls :) They loved the tent that Mimi and Papa had at their house in Atlanta, so we found some for them.... Here's Macie playing peek-a-boo from the house and Caroline looking through the camping tent!

Talking about swimming

We went to the Y tonight and swam - the girls did great! Caroline was bobbing around in her life-jacket swimsuit and a noodle - we barely had to keep a hand on her! Macie took a little longer to warm up, but after a while, started floating on her back and kicking her feet (with us letting go, too!). They found a yellow ball and a football to "swim" after and kick. It was great.

On the way home, we asked, "Caroline, did you have fun swimming?" and she answered, "Yots! Yots!" (lots of fun or lots of swimming... or does it matter :)

Then, we asked, "Macie, did you have fun swimming?" and she thought for a second and then said, "Toys. Nice, Nice!"

We'll be back there asap....

First trip to the Children's Museum!

WHO KNEW!? The Seattle Children's Museum is the PERFECT rainy day activity. The girls were in heaven - playing with Kai, putting on life jackets, crawling in tents, making balls fly through the air, going "grocery shopping," and let's not forget - THE WATER TABLE!!!! Notice, M and C are the only ones with their shirts off (they get really excited around water)! Great day.

Kai, Macie, and Caroline - making a big, wet mess!

Jon Jon's soccer game

We went up to Monroe last weekend to check out Uncle Tony and Aunt Cici's house that they're building - it's awesome - and to see Jonathan play in his soccer game! The girls had so much fun watching the game and cheering with Gabe. Here are some shots my sister took...

Love you, sis!

I love this picture! Caroline and Macie made their own reading nook and were having so much fun playing in the hall. Their smiles say it all :)
