How high is the water, momma? - The Great Flood of '09
We managed to make it out of the Great Flood of '09 with minor damage compared to the rest of the state. We had a small stream of water flowing into our basement which destroyed part of our floor, but didn't get too onto the carpet. We ripped up the floor and just ran the shop vac every 30 minutes until Home Depot opened and I could get some concrete to plug the leak. We managed to shop vac around 30 gallons of water in about 12 hours. It was a long night for M&C's mom and dad!

Santa VIDEO (finally, it uploaded!!!!)
I've been trying for two weeks to get this up! Finally, you get to see Macie and Caroline meeting Santa for the first time. And, he even brought his polar bear-dog! Apologies for the first few sideways seconds :) Til next year, SANTA!

10 months old!
Caroline and Macie

This post is so late, but a lot has been going on with the ladies lately! Macie just got her 5th tooth - which is significant because it's the first tooth she's gotten before Caroline. Hmmm - how does having the same DNA work, anyway?!?! We went in for our 10month check-up at the beginning of the year and the important stats are: Macie weighs 16lb 12oz and is 26.5in long and Caroling weighs 18lb 10oz and is 27.5in long. Even more interesting (or funny!) are their percentiles. Caroline is in the 25th percentile for height/weight and 75th for head, while Macie is in the 10th percentile for height/weight and 90th for head!!!! It's like an orange on a toothpick! Yes, that's right, Caroline outweighs Macie by 2lbs, but Macie's got a bigger head. The girls have been keeping busy chasing each other down the hall and through their fort. Macie has started crawling like a bull-dog, which is pretty funny. I think Caroline is trying to say "dog" which usually ends up sounding more like "duuuh" but she's got the right idea! Both girls love when I sing the 'Open Shut Them' song and they open, shut, and clap their hands right with me - it's so darn cute. They stopped letting me feed them with a spoon (well, Macie, anyway), so now they feed themselves everything - cheese, sweet potato chunks, tortilla, tofu, chicken, and of course, Cheerios. They love reading books with us or alone - it's pretty funny to watch them flip through the pages of a board book while it's upside down :) They are really changing and I can't believe their first birthday is next month, not that they actually have a birthday this year! Just kidding - we will definitely be celebrating that milestone, whether there is a February 29th or not! Enjoy the pics - the first two are from Aunt Cheryl:
